Do you want to make a MOD?
In OFP You can create, islands that spans hundreds of miles.Men,aircraft,armorment,vehicles,ships,animals,trees,bushes, everything you need to create you own game environment, this is no cheesy doom style game this is a game that begs for the best realistic environments.I like the challenge of creating the best visual imagery for gaming. This you will find fun and challenging to say the least .After you see snow fall from the sky and here the wind blowing thru the trees and seeing clouds roll over and thunder as off in the distance you here the squeaking and churning of tank treads coming your way you will feel like your in the game. You wont see some boxy looking thing that might be a tank. You will see a highres tank pointing its barrel at you. the sounds with some modification is excellent. Game play is strategic. In addition, you can add to it if you want too. I have worked on other MODS but none are as intense and realistic as OFP. The aircraft mod in the game are better looking than some flight sim games. The AI is the best I have seen. the environments are so realistic you feel like you could camp out and just kick back. Now im not trying to sell you OFP what I am telling you is you can build stuff and personalize your own combat arena. For modelers and animators I recommend doing some MODS if you are trying to get into a game company. this will prepare you for open gl gaming engines. low poly modeling, texture mapping, animation and key framing, simple C++ and more.Enjoy and good luck. |
